Lisa Windom, the newly crowned Miss Rodeo Nevada 2000, took time out of her busy appearance schedule at rodeo events across the country to visit her alma mater.

Since receiving her title in July, Lisa has represented her home state and the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association at the Frontier Days Rodeo in Cheyenne, Wy. She also participated in the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo held in Colorado Springs, Co.

“Becoming Miss Rodeo Nevada has allowed me to go places and do things I never would have received the chance to experience. It is truly an amazing opportunity,” Lisa said.

Lisa pursued her interest in horses while enrolled at Judson. As a member of the IHSA team, she developed her horsemanship talents and natural ability in the riding arena. Lisa credits her success to the personal attention she was given by her instructor, Mrs. Jennifer Hoggle, who is a former Miss Rodeo Alabama. “Mrs. Hoggle has been a tremendous source of encouragement and support from the very beginning, helping me gain the confidence needed to be successful in competition,” Lisa said.

During her college years, Lisa stayed active in campus activities and has made several valuable contributions to the Judson community. Lisa was selected by her classmates to be the director for Pageant 1997, she also served as Ambassador President, and Social Committee Chairman. Lisa represented her school as Miss Judson College at the 1997 Miss Alabama Pageant.

The 2001 Miss Rodeo America Pageant will take place Nov. 26th-Dec. 3rd at the Flamingo Hilton in Las Vegas, NV during the National Finals Rodeo festivities. Contestants are judged in the areas of horsemanship, personality and appearance throughout a strenuous competition schedule.

Lisa has accomplished many things in the short time since her graduation from Judson College in June 2000. Her degree in Fashion Merchandising has earned her a coveted position in management at the exclusive Herve Leger Paris Boutique in her hometown of Las Vegas.

“Based on personal experience, the majority of the Miss Rodeo America contestants take the year off of school or quit their jobs if they have one to prepare for the national competition. I have every confidence that Lisa’s commitment and organizational skills will allow her to successfully balance her career and her rodeo competitions. I feel that she will be a very strong contender for the Miss Rodeo America title,” states Jennifer Hoggle.
